Programs

We offer courses in the following areas:

  1. Vocational Nursing
  2. Initial CPR Certification
  3. CPR Re-Certification

Admission

 Each applicant for the Vocational Nursing Program must:

  1. Be at least 17-years old
  2. Be a Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant
  3. Present proof of a 12th grade education or its equivalent
  4. Pass the TEAS test with a minimum of 65%
  5. Complete the pre-requisite courses:  Introduction to Anatomy & Physiology; Pharmacology and Psychology
  6. Submit an application for admission to the VN Program
  7. Submit  three (3) recommendations
  8. Undertake a placement interview
  9. Submit a complete physical examination and vaccination record
  10. Submit a copy of a current CPR card

 (Foreign graduates must have their high school and college transcripts evaluated for US equivalency.  The Front Desk can assist you.)

 Selection Criteria

All adults are welcome to submit an application for enrollment in APNI’s Vocational Nursing Program.  However, the student must:

-  Fulfill all admission requirements

-  Pass the TEAS test with a score of 65% or better

-  3 points less will be evaluated individually

 

Our TEAS test is divided into four parts:

  1. Math: whole numbers, metric conversion, fractions, decimals, algebraic equations, percentages, and ratio/proportion.
  2. Reading: paragraph comprehension, passage comprehension, and inference/conclusions.
  3. English: punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, words and spelling. The School may offer a refresher course in this subject.
  4. Science: reasoning, biology, anatomy and physiology, basic physical principles, and basic science.

Vocational Nursing

The full-time program length is 15 months; academic coursework and clinical rotations.  Upon successful graduation, the student will be eligible to take the Licensing Exam for Vocation Nurses.

 The potential student will be number-rated on the following:

  1. Fulfilled all pre-requisite courses
  2. Financial obligations in place
  3. Family obligations in place
  4. Interview with the Director
  5. TEAS test score
  6. Previous academic history / grades
