Nursing Assistant Program

Course Detail

Day Class: 30 Day (6 weeks)

Mon, Tue, Thu & Fri 8:00 am to 3:00 pm or 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm

Clinical practice at the facility:7:30 am to 2:30 pm

 

Weekend Class: 12 Weekends

Saturday and Sundayi 8:00 am to 3:00 pm

Clinical practice at the facility:7:30 am to 2:30 pm

 

 Eligibility

-Minimal 16 years of age

-At least 8th grade of schooling

-Able to read and understand 5th grade level English

-No criminal record

 

Requirement

The following item are due first (1st) week of class:

-Physical examination with PPD Skin test

-Live scan finger printing (for criminal background/conviction clearance)

-ARC, CEP State fee $90

 

Admission Requirement

Enrollment / registration starts 2 weeks before classes begin.

- Registration fee $75 (non-refundable)

- Tuition: may be paid in 3installments

- Text book $30 (due 1st day of class)

Home Health Aid Program

Course Detail

Day Class:6 days includes clinical practice (40 hours)

8:00 am to 3:00 pm

 

Eligibility

Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant to take this course.

 

Requirement

- Physical examination with PPD Skin test

- Live scan finger printing (for criminal background/conviction clearance)

Acute/Subacute care course for CNAs:

Prepares the CNA to work in an acute setting such as in an acute hospital or step-down care.
Course Details:
80 hours course that focuses on advanced nursing skills
Weekend classes only, every Sunday for 10 weeks
Prerequisite:
Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant or 
Medical Assistant
Requirement

Overview of the proposed programs


All classes will be taught on the Hayward campus located at 2505 Technology Drive, Hayward, California. Classrooms will be used for instructions and are equipped with overhead projectors, DVD players, TV sets & monitors, video tapes recorder & player. A skills lab with A massage therapy clinic with massage chairs and tables, massage oils, lotions and creams, towels, stones and heating device are provided.
Admission Procedures & Requirement for both programs:

  1. Be at least 18 years of age
  2. Have a high school diploma, GED or college credit
  3. Submit a completed enrollment application
  4. Submit a recent (within 6 months) physical examination certifying good physical health
  5. Negative TB test (PPD or chest X-Ray) within a year
  6. Background check with live scan (finger printing)
  7. Interview with one of the admission representatives

I. Medical Assisting Program

Total contact hours: 256 theory & skills, 160 in externship

MEDAS 101 A: 5 Units
Introduction to Medical Assisting: Introduction to theory and foundational skills in medical assisting.

MEDAS 101 B: 7 Units
Medical Assisting: Clinical Application

MEDAS 101 C
Medical Assisting: Office Administration

COOPED
Occupational Work Experience in Medical Assisting
Courses cover anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, as well as keyboarding, transcription, recordkeeping, accounting, and insurance processing. Students learn laboratory techniques, clinical and diagnostic procedures, pharmaceutical principles, the administration of medications, and first aid. They study office practices, patient relations, medical law, and ethics.

Program A prepares students for basic certification as Certified Massage Practitioner (CMP) in the State of California.

Program B is an advanced level in Massage Therapy which, when completed along with program A, prepares students for certification in California as Certified Massage Therapist (CMT).
